Another poster for Sunny Hill House Shows in Petaluma, California. Futurebirds and Illiterate Light tore the house down from what I heard. The idea came from the show promoter for a fallen friend, DJ Rise. I also hid a few nods to the 'birds and their fan community as well. Looking forward to an east coast show with the full band hopefully sometime this year.

The direction I got on this was "Pete's favorite thing is his Jeep" and I was off and running. Cartez told me when they visited Pete recently they drove around in the Jeep. Good to hear it's still on the road.
Fan poster for the MMJ two night run on the East Coast. They played The Tennessee Fire in its entirety and what a show. I do these from time to time for the friends I've made over the years-plus it keeps me busy.

Whoa...this was extremely special. Not only did I get to do something for one of my favorite musicians, I got to sit in and play a song with him. I'll never forget the experience and the gift of attending that show. Thank you Lila!
Schneider Summer Concerts are always a highlight. Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley telling stories and playing songs is a magical time. Inspired by a Dazed and Confused image, this is where the poster took me.
Finnigan turned 40 and the poster request was "make him look like Tom Waits on the Giltter and Doom cover". Drawing glitter was a task but this was a whole lot of fun (they all are but learning new stuff makes it more rewarding).
These were announcement posters for the 2017 Lucero Fall tour. I'd love to do something again for Lucero-check them out on tour!
SCCS for Rhett Miller of the Old 97's. He closed the show with an amazing story before playing California Stars. The image is me with the Schneider's dog Quincy who they lost late the summer before this. I try to put something sentimental in there and I managed with Quincy along with the guitar (that's Rhett's model Gibson he plays).
Playing with our friends Goodnight Blue Moon and sharing stages with talented people makes it all worth it.

This was huge for me. I got to do something for Ben Nichols and Rick Steff of Lucero, AND it was for the Schneider Summer Concert Series. Double win.
A private commission for Jay Gonzalez of the Drive-By Truckers. A good human and a fabulous multi-instrumentalist. Lots of love to Luke and Sarah Henderson as well. Funny story-I thought of woodpeckers for this poster, and only afterwards did Luke tell me these were the same type of woodpecker that had been putting holes in parts of their house.
This was for my friends in the Los Angeles band Turbulent Hearts (RIP). Sometimes the news influences the art, just check the date and what was going on in the country around that time.

2013 SCCS poster for Patterson Hood and the Downtown Rumblers (Jay Gonzalez and Brad Morgan of DBT). Inspired by the lyric "putting people on the moon". That is the Les Paul Patterson was using around the time.
Fan poster for MMJ at Merriweather Post Pavilion. MPP has a special place in my heart for being the venue that I met so many people at in 2010. I drove 5 1/2 hours solo, and had an amazing time. So of course I went back again in 2012 but I did something special to give back.
2012 SCCS poster for Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires in Long Island, NY. This was the one that got things going, but a little scary-I wasn't happy with the original idea and started over with less than a week until the show. I was working up until about 2pm that day, drove to the printer, got them printed, and drove to Long Island. You learn something every time-the lesson from that one was "don't ever work until the last minute ever again". Everyone loved it (thankfully) and the show was a huge success.
An early Christmas gift-a fan poster for the MMJ/Band of Horses show at Madison Square Garden in NYC. This is the one that got me the next gig and started me on the path of gig art and posters.
I was teaching myself Illustrator and asking friends if I could do posters for their shows. Thanks to Jeff Thunders for letting me do this-even though I had no idea where I was going with it!
Early work for the Elm City Scooter Club. We got to open for American Speedway, got to see Malcom Tent play Rocket Ride acoustic, and saw a TON of scooters outside of Cafe Nine.
